Come and celebrate with us as we officially introduce Real Dads Read, ColGa to the city of Columbus and surrounding areas! We will host a brief ceremony at the Mildred L. Terry Library from 11:00am-2:30pm. Learn more about our program and our mission to provide every beauty and barbershop in the community with literacy centers.
REAL DADS READ BOOKFAIR WITH BARNES AND NOBLE

Join us for an exciting day of fun with Real Dads Read, ColGa for a Barnes and Noble Book Fair! Beginning at 11:00, we will have story time with local meteorologist Bob Jeswald! Guest appearances by the mouse from the story, "If You Give a Mouse a Pancake" and the Chick Fil A Cow!! Create in the "Makers Space," get your face painted and watch Davian Chester as he creates cool balloon art for the crowd to take home! Proceeds from this special event will assist with placing additional literacy centers and books in local beauty and barbershops.

Overflo Barbershop is giving away 105 FREE haircuts between the hours of 9:00am - 12:00 noon on Sunday, August 6, 2017! Mr. Greg Hudginson, Director of University Relations at Columbus State University will be on hand to conduct a hygiene and wardrobe workshop for the young men receiving haircuts. Real Dads Read, ColGa will also be on hand distributing 105 FREE "swag bags" filled with personal care items and a book!

MILLION FATHERS MARCH

The Million Father March is an opportunity for Black men to show their commitment to the educational lives of their children from the first day of school and throughout the school year. The following schools are participating in the Muscogee County School District: Reese Road Elementary, Wesley Heights Elementary, Davis Elementary, South Columbus Elementary, Midland Academy, Eddy Middle School, Baker Middle School and Fort Service Learning Magnet Academy.
